The free AI girlfriend maker that keeps its paywall in plain sight

Every preset on the shelf opens without a card, and the remix that turns one into your version costs nothing. This page marks the line where the paid tier actually begins.

Fictional AI characters only. Nobody here is a real person.

02The detail

What free covers here, and where it stops

Free means the whole shelf opens, talks back and remixes — not that you get to look at a builder through glass.

A free AI girlfriend maker usually means one of two things: a trial that ends mid-conversation, or a demo that shows the builder and hides the chat. Neither applies here. Every preset opens, every preset answers, and saving your own remixed version costs nothing at all.

The free tier does have a ceiling, and it is better to know where it sits than to find it at two in the morning. Long unbroken sessions, the deeper personality controls and the heavier image work belong to the upgrade. Everything that decides whether you actually like a character — her voice, her pace, how she handles a subject you did not plan for — sits on the free side, because that is the part you have to test before paying for anything.

Nothing bills automatically and no trial clock expires, because there is no trial. The upgrade is a separate decision on a screen that names its price before you pick it, and the versions you remixed before that stay yours either way.

What works well

  • No card field anywhere before your first conversation
  • All 40+ presets on the shelf open on the free tier
  • Remixing a preset and saving your version costs nothing
  • Runs in a browser tab, so nothing installs and nothing is purchased
  • Paid features are labelled as paid before you tap them
  • Your saved versions survive if you never upgrade

Worth knowing first

  • Very long sessions and the deeper trait controls belong to the upgrade
  • Free image generation is slower and more limited than the paid tier
  • Every character is fictional — none of them is a real person
  • Strictly 18+, with an age confirmation before anything loads

Presets that open on the free tier

Three of the starter cards, shown exactly as the shelf writes them before anyone remixes a trait.

Free preset opened without a card: AI character seated by a window at dusk

The card most people open first — written warm, deliberately under-specified so there is room to edit.

Free preset in a lamplit room, the version most people start their first chat on

A slower preset for people who want conversation rather than escalation. Free to open, free to remix.

Free preset photographed outdoors after sunset, unedited from the shelf

Straight off the shelf with nothing changed. This is what you see before you touch a single trait.

04In practice

What the first free session actually looks like

You confirm your age, the shelf loads, and you read four or five cards before one sounds right. Opening it starts a conversation immediately — no build queue, no render wait, no form asking who you are. Most people send three or four messages, decide the character is 80 percent correct, and go looking for the trait that is wrong.

That is the point where the free tier proves itself: you can fix the trait, save the result as your version, and keep going without a payment screen appearing. The upgrade only comes up when you reach for something the free tier never claimed to have — and by then you already know whether the character is worth it.

05Quick answers

Free tier — the questions people ask first

01

What do I actually get without paying?

The full shelf. You can open any preset, hold conversations with it, remix its traits and save your own version without paying. The free tier is not a preview of the builder — it is the builder, with a ceiling on session length and on the heavier image work.
02

Is there a card field before the first chat?

No. Nothing asks for card details to browse the shelf, open a preset or start talking. Payment only appears if you deliberately choose the upgrade, and that screen shows the price before it asks for anything.
03

Does the free tier limit how long a conversation can run?

Yes, and this is the honest limit. Very long unbroken sessions are shaped for the paid tier, so a marathon evening will hit a pause the upgrade removes. Ordinary conversations of a few dozen messages are not the problem this limit exists for.
04

If I never upgrade, do I lose the presets I remixed?

No. A remix is saved as your own version and stays on your shelf whether or not you ever pay. The original preset it came from is untouched as well, so you always have both to go back to.
